
Seishi Katto a.k.a. Masafumi Katto
Seishi Katto (甲藤征史 , Masafumi Katto) (October 17, 1938) is a Japanese director, producer and animator.
From the second year of Konan Junior High School, he serialized the four-panel manga "Manga Yokocho" in "Children's Kochi Newspaper". When he was in college, he was approached by Otogi Production, and joined the company, starting his career as an animator. After leaving Otogi Production, he joined Studio Zero, where he was involved in the production of "Obake no Q-Taro" and "Perman". In 1969, he moved to Germany, where he started producing newspaper comics, animations, and illustrations.[1] In 1971, while working on the German version of Sesame Street, Sesamstrasse, he met Otmar Gutmann. [2]
After Otmar Gutmann's death in 1993, Katto took over production of Pingu. He wrote, produced and directed some of the episodes of Pingu for seasons 2, 3 and 4.[3]
