Physical Home Video

From 1991-1992, The series was released across three VHS tapes by BBC Video in the United Kingdom.

Select episodes from this season were featured on the UK compilation DVD and VHS "Pingu Forever!" released in August 2003.

Later, The entire series was released on DVD in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand under the title "Classic Collection" (The Complete Series One in the United Kingdom and Ireland).

The complete series is currently available to purchase on iTunes in the United Kingdom and Australia.

Streaming

The complete series is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video and Kidstream worldwide and Play RSI in Italy. The series (along with the next 5 seasons and the A Very Special Wedding special) has played on Pop Up, a linear streaming network available through EE TV, Freeview, Freely, LG Channels, Plex, Pluto TV, Netgem TV and Samsung TV Plus in the United Kingdom.

Trivia

  • In the mid 1990s, due to the new soundtrack and voicing made for Season 3, Season 1's audio was re-done and the title sequence was replaced with a section of David Hasselhoff's "The Pingu Dance".
  • When this series and possibly all the other classic seasons aired on CBeebies since 2002, The episodes we're cropped and presented in 14:9 ("halfway widescreen").[3]
