Pingu and the Fish Flute is the seventeenth episode of Season 6. It was written by Will Hodge.
Plot[]
Down by the fishing hole, Pingu finds an rather oddly shaped flute buried in the snow. He goes back inside to show it off, but the noise that comes out from it is so ear piercing that Mum tells him to go outside to play it.
Pingu goes into town to do get some more practice, but everywhere he goes, the town's penguins cringe with horror at the noise and shut their doors on it. The sound of the flute even nearly makes a penguin fall off his ladder whilst he is repasting the roof of his igloo. Pingu shows the flute to Pingo, but to him that is not music compared to the tunes he is listening to on his record player.
Soon Pingu meets up with Grandpa and his friends outside the town hall, before they go on their hiking trip. Pingu tries to practice his flute again, the hiking team do not like it either and he walks feeling rather depressed. However because he has now become overcome with the blues, he suddenly starts to play the flute very well.
Pingu plays all the way down to the fishing hole and as he sits by the water, Robby notices that the music from the flute is making the fish jump up to the surface. Robby is very excited and when Grandpa and the hikers come along, they are most impressed. Soon Pingu realises the magic of his flute, but as he thanks audience, another fish jumps out of the water and snatches the flute from his wing. Then suddenly as everyone stares down into the pool, an even more beautiful tune can be heard coming up from deep down under the water. As the fish flute continues to play, everyone dances to the music and Pingu whoops for joy.
