Pingu and the Band is the 20th episode of the fifth season of Pingu. It aired on January 29th, 2004 and was written by Ross Hastings.
Plot[]
Pingu and Pinga feel in the mood for making music and go all around the igloo drumming everything with spoons. They make a terrible racket and Mum tells them to go outside.
Outside, Pingu and Pinga uses their spoons to make music by scraping the sledge, banging the snowman’s hat and on their aunt's dustbins and her front door, which is not taken with too much approval. Then they bang some mailboxes and on the shuter at the post office. As the post master opens the shutter to see what is going on, Pingu and Pinga sneak inside to try to do some more drumming and make the shutter close on the post master's head. Dad quickly escorts them back outside.
Eventually they arrive at Grandpa's igloo where he is dozing in his chair outside. Pingu and Pinga bang loudly on the table in front of Grandpa and wake him up with a shock and make him retreat hastily indoors. Pingu feels sad that no one likes their music and he and Pinga are just about to leave, when Grandpa comes back outside again playing his accordion. Pingu sees some icicles and plays on them like a xylophone. Pinga then plays them too whilst standing on a crate. Pingu then uses a fish skeleton as a güiro and finally their new band is complete. Soon it becomes a marching band, so Pinga breaks off one of the icicles and blows through it like a trumpet. They march back home to Pingu's igloo and from Mum and Dad, they recieve the best reception that they have had all day.
