Pingu Looks After the Egg (also known as Pingu Helps With Incubating) is the second episode of the first season of Pingu.
Synopsis
Pingu's mother trusts him to look after the egg while she helps Father to hang up the laundry. At first Pingu is happy to help, but he soon gets bored and starts dancing to music on his record player. While he is dancing, the egg grows legs and starts walking around the room. Pingu notices this and tries to get a hold of the egg before his parents find out, trashing the igloo in the process.
Pingu's parents eventually noticing the commotion and rush inside to help. Father catches the egg and Mother finds Pingu hiding in the cupboard, afraid that his parents will punish him. Mother hugs him and Pingu kisses her on the cheek. Mother and Pingu clean up the igloo and Father knits him a little toque.

Trivia
- On BBC VHS tapes, the scene with Pingu hiding in the cupboard was cut.
- In the original version, the song playing on the record player is "Woodpeckers from Space" by VideoKids. However, the current version instead uses "The Pingu Dance."
- This episode uses a different version of "The Pingu Dance" than the one sung by David Hasselhoff. While the music and sound effects are the same, David Hasselhoff's lyrics are not there and a different singer sings some parts of the song (presumably in a foreign language). However, Hasselhoff's lyrics can be heard faintly when the ball of yarn rolls for the second time.
- The part when Pingu's head bounces off his shoulders was copied from the "Woodpeckers from Space" music video.
