Pingu Goes Ice Surfing is the fourth episode of the second season which was first broadcast on the January 12, 1992.
Summary[]
Pingu's Mother has hung out some washing with his help. Once Mum has gone back inside the igloo, the wind picks up and Pingu decides that this is a good opportunity to go ice-surfing.
Pingu goes into the shed and builds himself a mast which he fits on to his sledge, then he takes a bed sheet off the line to use as a sail. As soon as Pingu takes his new ice-surfer outside, the wind carries him along at top speed without a stop. That is until at one point he starts going up hill and the wind suddenly drops. Pingu and his ice-surfer come crashing back down the hill; at the bottom, the sail brakes off the bed sheet gets ruined. Pingu goes straight back home, where his mother tells him to clean the sheet thoroughly.
As Pingu is trying to scrub the dirty off the sheet, getting himself covered in soap suds in the process, Robby comes along and offers to help. By swish-swashing his tail and belly over the sheet like a windscreen wiper, Robby very quickly gets it looking spotless and shining whiter than the rest of the washing on the line. Pingu explains to his mother about how well Robby cleaned the sheet and she is so pleased, she rewards the two youngsters with a fish which they share between each other, like all good friends do.
