Mischievous and warm hearted, Pingu James Penguin is about as cheeky as you can get without losing any friends. Like any 8-year-old, he's constantly pushing boundaries so even the most routine activities transform into the unexpected when Pingu gets involved. Luckily, Pingu is as good at getting out of trouble as he is good at getting into it and he usually manages to win everyone over with his playful nature. His catchphrase is "NUG NUG!!!!".
Appearance
Pingu is a black and white round penguin with orange/yellow feet and a red beak. Although he can change his appearance by changing his size all or flat chest size tall with big chest or opposite and sometimes his head can even detach. He also has teeth, seen when he grins. In the episode "Pingu and Pinga at Home", where he flips the pancake onto the ceiling and it lands on his head, making him look like an elephant, he then trumpets just like an elephant. In the Opening Title of the Original Swiss series, he carries a red napsack with white spots.
Communication
Pingu makes his own uniqe sound, a sort of "NUG NUG!!!!", with his voice. In doing this, his beak becomes a sort of horn shape whenever he greets or gets cross.
