Pingu: A Barrel of Fun! is an educational game, published by BBC Multimedia.
Description
Pingu: A Barrel of Fun! is a compilation of educational games for younger children based on the clay-animated children's TV series Pingu. The game includes five puzzles involving letters, numbers, colours, sounds and shapes and five games for players to test their skills.
The games include Music Time (record your own tunes and sing along to a select few), Ice Flow (where you need to help Pingu cross ice flows to deliver Robbie the seal's birthday presents), Snow Maze (help Pingu find his way around a maze, collecting items in the process), Fish Tennis (play against the computer or with a friend) and Building Blocks (a jigsaw puzzle-type game where you need to move the shapes to their correct places). It also includes five PC screensavers.

Colour Puzzle
Help:
- Help Pingu move each of the multicoloured bands around the tunnels until they match the colour above.
- To move the bands, click on the arrows above and below them. When all the bands match the colour, the tunnel gate will begin to open. When it's enough Pingu will jump in and search for his ball.
- If you want to go back to the Puzzles menu, click on the orange Menu button.
- To change the skill level, click on the pink Skill button.
Shapes Puzzle
Help:
- The seagull will be carrying a shape in its feet.
- Click on the box that matches it. The shape will drop into that box.
- Click on the green Go button or press the Return key on your keyboard to start the game.
- If you want to go back to the Puzzles menu, click on the orange Menu button.
- To change the skill level, click on the pink Skill button.
Sound Puzzle
Help:
- Match the objects with the sounds made by the organ grinder.
- Point to an object to hear the sound it makes. Then find a hidden sound button that makes a same sound.
- Click on the sounds that match and they will disappear.
- If you want to go back to the Puzzles menu, click on the orange Menu button.
- To change the skill level, click on the pink Skill button.
Letter Puzzle
Help:
- To do this puzzle, look at what Pingu has painted.
- Find the first letter of the word from the tray of letters below, To find out what a letter in the tray sound like, point on it.
- Click on the letter that you think is the first letter of the word.
- Click on the picture to hear the word again.
- If you want to go back to the Puzzles menu, click on the orange Menu button.
- To change the skill level, click on the pink Skill button.
Number Puzzle
Help:
- You'll see Pingu and Robby push different things onto the screen, Count them and then click on the right number.
- If you want to go back to the Puzzles menu, click on the orange Menu button.
- To change the skill level, click on the pink Skill button.

Building Blocks
Help:
- Pingu's got lots of building blocks. he needs you to help him build the blocks into the shape.
- You can pick up a block by clicking on it.
- Then, movie it into the right position and click again to let it go. Keep going until you have finishes making the shape.
- To go back to the Games menu, click on the orange Menu button.
- To change the skill level, click on the pink Skill button.
Snow Maze
Help:
- Pingu needs you to guide him through the maze, and collect all the things along the way.
You can move him different directions by using the keys shown here.
- Click on the green Go button or press the Return key on your keyboard to start the game.
- To go back to the Games menu, click on the orange Menu button.
- To change the skill level, click on the pink Skill button.
Fish Tennis
Help:
- to play Fish Tennis, you must hit the fish over the net.
- Move Pingu into the right position by using the keys shown here. The fish-o-matic machine only has enough power to return the fish three times.
- You win the fish every time the machine runs out of power
- The first one with four fish is the winner
- Click on the green Go button or press the Return key on your keyboard to start the game.
- To go back to the Games menu, click on the orange Menu button.

2 PLAYER MODE
- to play Fish Tennis, you must try and hit the fish over the net.
- To hit the fish, move Pingu or Robby using the keys showned here. You win the fish each time your friend misses a fish. The first one with four fish is the winner. Click on the green Go button or press the Return key on your keyboard to start the game.
- To go back to the Games menu, click on the orange Menu button.
- To change the skill level, click on the pink Skill button.
Ice Flow
Help:
- Pingu needs you to help him deliver Robby's presents without falling into the water.
- You can move Pingu by using the keys shown here.
- If Pingu falls into the water, he will swim safely back to the shore and pop up through the ice hole.
- Click on the green Go button or press the Return key on your keyboard to start the game.
- To go back to the Games menu, click on the orange Menu button.
- To change the skill level, click on the pink Skill button.
Music Time
- Pingu loves music. You can sing-along with Pingu by clicking on one of his favourite nursery rhymes, play some tunes with the keyboard or record your own!
