Pinga is Pingu's younger sister and a main character of Pingu. She only appeared inside of her egg in Pingu Looks After the Egg. She was born in her debut episode, The New Arrival. She is voiced by the late, Carlo Bonomi, Nicole Christen in SRG German audiobooks, the late, Marcello Magni, & Fumiya Tanaka.

Bio[]

Pinga lives in the South Pole with her parents and her brother Pingu. She also has two grandfathers, several aunts, and two cousins.

Pinga loves her older brother and always tags along when he is around. Although potty trained, she is not yet old enough to be fully independent and looks to her big brother to include her in his games and adventures.

Pinga eventually moved to the city, when or how this happened has never been explained, it's possible that Pinga's family decided to move somewhere different.

Personality[]

Pinga is a playful penguin. She always follows her big brother, Pingu around and always likes to play with her toys and dolls, especially her little rabbit toy. She is also very sensitive and sometimes cries because of Pingu's unfair actions. Pinga also seems to like dancing.

Appearance[]

Pinga is a black, grey and white round penguin (an appearance similar to an emperor penguin chick) with orange feet and a red beak. Like Pingu, Pinga has the ability to turn into a ball for many purposes.

Appearances[]

Pinga also appeared in A Very Special Wedding, The Pingu Show, and Eskimo Disco 7-11.

Trivia[]

  • Pinga's height is 1'5, making her possibly a foot shorter than her older brother, Pingu.
  • Pinga's potty looks like a ceramic mug. She also has multiple potties because there is always a mug like that sitting on top of the snowman's head.
  • On the very rare occasion, she can say her brother's "Noot Noot" sound, as seen in Power Up Pingu and Special Delivery for Pingu.
  • Pinga's name can mean "rum", "drip" or "drop" in Portuguese.
