HOT Animation was a British stop motion animation & computer animation studio based in Broadheath, Manchester, England, UK. It was established in 1998 by Jackie Cockle, Brian Little, and Joe Dembinski. The animation-studio was a subsidiary of Mattel’s London-based HiT Entertainment.

They produced the Fifth and Sixth season of Pingu with great success from 2003 to 2006. They also worked on the 7-11 Eskimo Disco Pingu music video, and also produced a commercial featuring Pingu (which has yet to be found) for Sumitomo Life, a Japanese insurance company.

The Manchester-based studio also created the stop-motion animation for Bob the Builder and Rubbadubbers.

The studio started to lay off employees sometime around 2007, and was later dissolved on August 18th, 2012. The company closed because HiT Entertainment stopped with Stop-motion and switched to CGI-animation.
