Pingu: The Most Cheerful Penguin in the World (Japanese: ピングー 世界で1番元気なペンギン Hepburn: Pingu: Sekai de Ichiban Genki na Penguin) is an Action game, developed by Tom Create and published by B-AI (Bandai) It was released exclusively in Japan for Nintendo Game Boy in 1993.

The game consists of four episodes showcasing Pingu's daily life. There are also minigames which can be found in various igloos.

Plot[]

Episode 1: Fishing with Pingu[]

Pingu eats a fish on the kitchen table for which his mother berates him and gives him a fishing rod to catch more. By the fishing holes he meets an excited Robby who tries to eat the fish Pingu catches during the minigame in which Pingu must score at least 100 points from the three portions of bait he has on him. One of the fish then jumps back into the hole but Robby catches it and gives it back to Pingu.

Episode 2: Rescuing Pinga[]

Back home, Pingu listens to Woodpeckers from Space before his mother turns of the record player and orders him to take Pinga out. While they are out, Pingu meets Pingo and chats with him. While Pingu's back is turned, Pinga wanders off and Pingu finds her stranded on an iceberg. A minigame begins in which Pingu must jump across moving icebergs to reach his sister. When the two siblings are safely back on land, they return home.

Episode 3: Pingu's Ice Hockey[]

Back home, Pingu plays with his ball but breaks a vase. He goes out to buy another one but he cannot afford it so he enters a game of hockey to win more fish. Pingu must score three goals in each of three rounds to win his prize. However, the vase has been sold by the time he returns to the market stall. He returns home where he finds that his father had bought the vase. The family are happy with the new vase.

Episode 4: Pingu's Snowball Fight[]

Pingu has an argument with his mother which leaves him in tears so he goes out. While he is out, two other penguins (likely Pingo and Pingg) hit him with a snowball so he challenges them to a snowball fight. In the minigame Pingu must hit each of his opponents once across three stages in which an extra opponent is added in the next two stages. Night falls and Pingu says goodbye to his friends before returning home. Back home, he reconciles with his mother who gives him a hug.
