The Opening Sequence is the introduction seen at the start of every episode. Every two seasons of Pingu, the intro changed with the change in production teams.

A font which was used in the old logo for Pingu series is called Sprague.

Intro History[]

Pingu[]

Intro 1[]

It was used for the original version of seasons 1 and 2 of Pingu. The theme song is called "Küchenchef" and it was composed by Antonio Conde. It shows animated footage of Pingu walking with a knapsack, it then zooms in on him and a blue circle forms, Pingu looks at the audience and the Pingu logo fades in, he then winks. And fades in an black box. This is the only Pingu intro to use traditional hand coloured cel animation, and two-dimensional animation in general as the majority of the original series uses stop-motion animation.

Intro 2[]

Same as the first intro, but it's animated in the same stop motion style as the rest of the series. Pingu walks a bit faster in this one and the camera zooms in on him more slowly, and when he turns his head to face us, he happily nods and then winks. The iris that surrounds Pingu is also now a darker shade of blue. This version also has the music replaced by a portion of The Pingu Dance, this version was used on Seasons 3-4 and international airings of Seasons 1-2 in places such as Italy, Japan, as well as some initial US airings, and later on the remastered version of Seasons 1 and 2 worldwide.

Intro 3[]

It was used for season 5 and 6 of Pingu. Pingu pops in from the bottom right corner, and then dances, he then turns and the new Pingu logo zooms out on a blue background.

The Pingu Show[]

Same as the intro for the fifth and sixth season of Pingu, but "The" and Show" are Above and Below the Pingu logo respectively.

Pingu in the City[]

The opening theme for "Pingu in the City" is called "PINGU A GO! GO!", composed by Ken Arai.

Pingu walks in next to his igloo and does his known "Noot Noot" then jumps to his kick scooter and rides through the streets where his friends and his family are seen. He then acts like a football player, a painter, a chef and a florist before jumping into the Inventor's flying car and taking to the sky as the logo for "Pingu in the City" appears amongst a bunch of helium balloons.

International[]

Japan[]

It was used in the beginning of "Pingu Collection" VHSes only. The opening is called "Pingu Rap", composed by Masaya Matsuura. It starts normally but the Pingu logo comes in letter by letter, then footage of the show is shown, it then cuts back to where the Pingu logo is already formed and the Circle Pingu is in bounces towards it.

South Korea[]

It was used in the beginning of Pingu VHSes released in that country. [1]
