Carlo Bonomi (March 12th, 1937 - August 6, 2022) was a clown by trade, actor and voice artist who provided the voices of all the characters for the first four seasons of Pingu without a script. He was also notable for playing Il segretario in the Italian TV series Le mie prigioni, Un alabardiere in the Italian TV series La freccia nera, voicing Mr. Linea in an Italian cartoon aired on Italian TV channel RAI named La Linea, Red & Blue in the Italian stop-motion cartoon The Red and the Blue and all characters in the Italian cartoon Stripy. In 1985, his voice was used for station announcements at Milano Central Railway Station right up until 2008. When the show was revived for a fifth and sixth series, Bonomi was replaced by David Sant and Marcello Magni. He was initially considered to reprise his roles, but HiT Entertainment decided he sounded too old.[1]

On August 6, 2022, Carlo Bonomi died at the age of 85 at his hometown in Milan, Italy. The cause of his death is currently unknown and has never been revealed to the public.
