This was Pingu’s very first appearance in CGI form 7 years before Pingu in the City.
The song is called まあるいいのち by Iruka which was used for the 30th Anniversary piggy bank which is promoted at the end of the commercial was also used for the 2005 blue box version of the Dancing Pingu toy with a blue fish necklace which also contains a cover of Stevie Wonder’s Happy Birthday made exclusively for the toy to celebrate Pingu’s 25th Anniversary.

It's been 45 years since Otmar Gutmann created the Hugo short, which also marks the birth of the Pingu franchise. The Official Japanese Pingu instagram account has posted its first post regarding the 45th anniversary. Expect new merchandise and events (all Japanese exclusive) in the near future.

It is currently unknown if the polar bear cub on the book cover of Pingu & His Family was considered to be Tony Wolf’s version of Polly. But it could be.
I think all his friends would come to the city.
I think some of Pingu's relatives would come.
I think his family would have an even bigger house.
I think Pingu would already know how to swin good.
Let me tell you something. I honestly remember there being a copy of the 1997 special "Pingu at the Wedding Party" where there's no text or credits anywhere in the opening and closing of the special.
That version was on a YouTube upload of a Swiss DVD called "Brollopsfesten", but it got removed and now I can't find it anymore.
Does anyone have this DVD? Can someone archive it so that the original version of the 1997 special isn't lost, like, forever? Can anyone put it on the Internet Archive?
I seriously want to see the old version of the special again since, well, it's just the unedited special, no text or credits or anything. All clean.
Those above are a selection of Pingu toys, boards games and stuff, sold in Switzerland in the 90s, produced by Editoy, the company that used to own the Pingu IP (Not The Pygos Group, for god's sake, that never existed as an actual production company owned by Otmar Gutmann or Silvio Mazzola!).
These, in my opinion, are so rare and only sold in one country, I guess, that nobody ever created pages for these toys on this wiki.
These toys seem so interesting in my opinion, that's all I can say. ;)
Hi. I'm Dan, and I wanna make a big explanation on something.
At this point, people might pretty much know that everything has an owner.
Pingu is obviously one those things that has an owner, in this case being HIT Entertainment/Mattel through an entity they own called "The Pygos Group".
Speaking of that Pygos Group thing, I wanna discuss something about the wiki's page for The Pygos Group. And if you read the title and knew exactly what you just read, you might know what I want to talk about.
To start off, I will share the first and most important fact: The Pygos Group NEVER EXISTED AS A PRODUCTION/ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY!
It's actually the d.b.a/doing business as/trade name of an entity owned by HIT/Mattel called Joker, Inc.
Proof can be found on those copyright records of Pingu stuff.
Also, the entity was first located in Allen, Texas, then in Mattel's HQ after Mattel acquired HIT Entertainment in 2012.
Second fact: Pingu was first owned by a Swiss company named Editoy AG, then ownership of the Pingu IP moved to a possible Dutch entity of Editoy simply named Editoy B.V., located in the Netherlands, which had its name changed to Pingu B.V. after some time, the Netherlands entity probably spun off from the Swiss Editoy company, but I'm not sure about this one.
Those entities never called themselves as "The Pygos Group", did they? The name only started appearing in the copyrights when HIT bought the rights to Pingu in 2001.
Pingu BV and "The Pygos Group" are not the same company to put it simply.
And third: The Pygos Group never even owned the Pingu studio anyway, the studio might already have closed down when HIT bought Pingu.
There, I explained everything about "The Pygos Group" in detail. I hope you now understand what "The Pygos Group" exactly is.
If possible, I basically want everyone to create separate pages for all of those things, one for the Pingu studio in Switzerland, one for the Pingu B.V. entity in the Netherlands, and maybe one for the Joker, Inc./Pygos Group entity too, explaining that it's an entity to hold the copyright and trademark rights to the Pingu IP, and maybe very few images of where the entity was located, like in Allen, Texas for example.
Thanks for reading. ;)
